Historia y leyendas

Until the seventh generation

In the tradition of many Indian nations, seven is a very important number. The Lakotas mention seven "original persons" and possessed Seven Council fires. Seneca culture distinguishes between "seven talents".

The pawnees relied on the position of the Seven Stars (known by Europeans as the Pleiades) to determine the beginning of the ceremonial year. First, several Native Americans assume responsibility for those who follow their example, even up to the Seventh Generation.

This means you have to think about what you do in the future. Some Indians look forward to the future byining traditions in new and non-traditional ways, such as novel writing or the practice of other arts. Some struggle to regain what they believe is the “balance of the world”, demanding the restitution of the remains of their ancestors and other ancient relics found in museums, and demanding that land that was illegally expropriated be restored.

Some attempt to provide employment to the unemployed or preserve their culture by educating young people in their own traditions, although they also give them the means to compete in the modern world.
