Historia y leyendas

The stone can tell stories.

An orphan was strong and intelligent. One day, his aunt handed him a bow and arrows with the instruction that he should learn to hunt. Go to the woods and bring food. He got up early the next morning and caught three birds. However, around noon, the tendon that held the feathers of his arrow loosened and leaned onto a flat stone to stretch it.

In an instant, he heard a deep voice saying, "Would you like me to tell you a story?"

I was expecting to see someone, but there was nobody. The voice insisted once again, "Do you want me to tell you a story?"

The child began to feel scared. He looked everywhere, but found nothing. He realized that the voice came from the stone on which he was sitting when he ringed again.Would you like me to tell you a story? The young man questioned the stories.- Stories are events of a long time ago. My stories are like stars that never disappear.

After the stone finished one story, it would begin another.

The child remained attentive all the time, keeping his head bent. The stone suddenly cried out, "Now we will rest." Come back tomorrow and bring the inhabitants of your community to hear my stories. Everyone received a gift.

The boy told everyone what had happened that night, and the next morning people accompanied him into the woods. Before sitting, each put meat, bread or tobacco on the stone.

At the end of the silence, the stone began to tell ancient stories. Some of you will be able to remember all the words, others only a part, and others will remember nothing. Listen carefully.

People bowed their heads to pay attention. The sun had almost set when the stone was finished. "I have already told all my stories," said the stone. You must remember them and pass them on to your children and grandchildren, and always do so. And whenever you ask someone for a story, give them a gift.So it happened. All the wisdom we know comes from the stone.

This is explained by the seneca in the area near the present-day Toronto, Canada. The bones of the earth are stones, so they must be treated with respect.
